Leah Gold, RM, CFNC, MA
Leah Gold is a Registered Midwife licensed with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
Prior to becoming a midwife, she did her Masters research in the Peruvian Andes, looking at traditional medicine and women’s health. This is ultimately what led her to becoming interested in midwifery. Shortly after the birth of her first son at home with midwives, she witnessed connections with her previous research in traditional medicine in South America with birth culture in North America. Since then she has been passionate about accompanying parents into the rite of passage that birth is.
Please note that I do not offer diagnosis, nor do I prescribe medications outside of the scope of midwifery in British Columbia.
Why Functional Medicine?
After applying Functional Medicine to her own health complications with great results, Leah decided to train in Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition and learn how to apply it to maternity care. Outside of consulting in Functional Nutrition and Maternity, she also offers locum midwifery coverage for her community as well as in the Arctic. She feels constantly amazed and privileged to be on this life-path and looks forward to working with you.
